I got out of the Marine Corps after four years and I came home without a plan. Without a network. Without anyone telling me what came next. The VA gave me a checklist. Nobody gave me a roadmap.
So I built one.
I earned my FAA Airframe and Powerplant certificate. I started businesses — learned what works, learned what doesn’t. I got my 100% service-connected rating and kept going. Now I’m finishing my Aviation Maintenance Management degree at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
Nobody handed me any of that. I figured it out. Slowly, expensively, and sometimes the hard way.
That’s why I built EducatedVet.
I’ve watched too many capable, hard-working veterans get passed over — not because they weren’t qualified, but because nobody taught them how to translate their service into something civilian employers understand.
How to dress. How to show up. How to talk to a boss who never served. How to walk into a room and make them want to hire you.
The VA teaches you the paperwork. EducatedVet teaches you the rest.
If you got out sideways — lower rank, General knowledge, no network, no plan — this was built specifically for you. Because that was me. And I figured it out anyway.
You can too.
